Principle of Inoculation
The inoculum will be injected through an inoculation port directly via a capillary channel into a recess of the porous cell compartment.
Due to the pore design and respective pore size distribution (at minimum 70% of pores have a size between 160 µm and 250 µm) of the borosilicate mold a reproducible three-dimensional distribution of the inoculum is enforced.
The volume of the inoculum determines the surface are of wetting (linear dependency) and the cell concentration of the cell suspension controls the cell density on the wetted surface.
